Human Resources

Vera was born and raised in the northeast San Fernando Valley. After graduating from San Fernando High School, she pursued a mathematics degree at UC Santa Barbara. Upon graduating from UCSB, she began her career in the aerospace industry. She joined Hughes Aircraft Missile Systems Group as a software developer. After a few years of developing and testing software, Vera decided to pursue a career in Human Resources. To prepare herself for this career change, she attended the University of Redlands and graduated with an MBA degree. For over 25 years Vera Mendoza has partnered with executive management in leading all human resources initiatives in various industries across Southern California. Vera has a wide and in-depth background in HR management. Vera is licensed by two accredited, national HR institutes: SHRM-SCP and HRCI SPHR. In addition to attaining director-level HR positions, Vera also serves as a HR Consultant for many companies. One of Vera’s passions is working with youth – especially those that are disadvantaged or face challenges in pursuing uplifting opportunities. As a kid, Vera herself faced a few obstacles. When she was six years old, her father tragically died in a car accident. Her mother faced the daunting challenge of raising ten children single-handedly. Too many kids in a house that was too small. Not enough money. Rough and tough neighborhood. Not the best schools. In short, the odds were not in Vera’s favor. On the bright side - throughout her childhood, Vera was blessed in that she had many awesome teachers, wonderful after-school programs, committed mentors and kind people who cared enough to guide her away from making poor choices. Stay away from drugs. Do well in school. Be a good person. Do the right thing. Vera is a firm believer that if provided with opportunities, guidance, education, stability & love, that all youngsters can achieve a better and happy life – even children with limited resources and less-than-ideal backgrounds. When she is not busy attending an HR seminar or assisting a client, Vera’s favorite past times include visiting her daughter in Northern California, taking long walks or nature hikes, collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia. And lately, because of the Coronavirus stay-at-home orders, Netflix bingeing is high on her list of favorite things to do.
